This year USEFP is offering a fully funded, yearlong scholarship in the USA for PhD scholars, professionals, and artists from all fields. The selected participants will spend 12 months in the U.S., sharing their culture with students, colleagues, and local communities. After their stay, they are expected to return home and use the knowledge and experience gained in the U.S. to contribute to their own communities through meaningful development projects.
This is an amazing opportunity to go to the U.S. for free without needing to take IELTS, TOEFL, or any other English Test. Around 15 scholars will be chosen for 2024. Of these, 13 spots are for early-stage researchers who have been working on their research for 2-7 years. The remaining two spots are for senior scholars who are 8-15 years into their research after completing their PhD or final degree.

Eligibility Criteria of Fulbright Scholar Program
- All scholars are eligible except clinical medicine.
- Applicants must have a PhD or terminal degree in their field for at least the last 2 years.
- They must be Pakistani citizens living and working in Pakistan.
- Women and disabled individuals from AJK, KPK,Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Northern Sindh, and Southern Punjab are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with dual U.S./Pakistani nationality, a U.S. national spouse, or a U.S. national child 18 can apply.
- Those already studying in the U.S. or in a long-term program for the past five years.
- Employees and dependents of USEFP or the U.S. Department of State, are ineligible.
- Additionally, candidates on U.S. work visas cannot apply.
- Applicants must have a strong command of the English Language

- Applicants must complete the application online and submit all the required material, including an original and a copy, along with references, to USEFP.
- Before filling out the forms, candidates should carefully review the “Application Instruction” after logging in.
- Applicants need a clear, well-thought out proposal outlining what they hope to achieve in the U.S. and how it connects to their work in Pakistan.
- They must have at least two invitation letters from U.S. universities, which can be submitted either with the application or after being shortlisted.
- The application should clearly explain how the grant period will be used and the expected outcomes.
- A reference letter from a professional familiar with the candidate’s work and character is also required.
