Eligibility Criteria:

- The Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree.
- The Candidates must have excellent academic results.
- The Candidates must be international students.
- Singaporean nationals who already have completed tertiary education in Singapore are not eligible to apply.
- The candidates must be proficient in English.
- The candidates who wish to apply for the PhD in science and engineering are eligible. However, the candidates who want to apply for the master’s program are ineligible.
- phD courses for social sciences, humanities, economics, etc are not eligible to apply.
- SINGA does not require a specific certificate for English Language Proficiency; this can be evaluated during the interview. Although, an English Language Certificate might be needed by the respective university.
How to Apply for the Singapore International Graduate Award?
Here’s what you need to know:
- The candidates are requested to submit all the documents online.
- The candidates need to pick research projects by exploring the available projects under “Go to Research Areas.”
- Referees should send the reference letter directly to SINGA.
- The application process begins once SINGA receives a minimum of two reference letters.
- Upload digital copies of the necessary documents on the online application.
- Those applying through the SINGA portal don’t need to separately apply on university portals.
- Try submitting your application two weeks before the deadline because once submitted, referees receive an email and have 7 days to complete and send the reference letter.
- Candidates must explain their research proposals in the application forms.
- Each candidate is allowed to submit multiple (up to 3) research proposals.
- Contacting a supervisor isn’t necessary for applying to SINGA.
- Candidates can apply in any field for a phD. There is no obligation to follow their bachelor’s major.

- A recent passport-size photo which must be in PNG or JPG format.
- Copy of your valid passport.
- Referees must submit 2 recommendation letters online.
- Include an English proficiency certificate if the university requires it.
